Virtual Power Plants for Co-ops: Unlocking Benefits and Leveraging Federal Funding

Wednesday, August 2, 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. MT

Virtual power plants (VPPs)—grid-integrated aggregations of distributed energy resources such as batteries, EVs, smart thermostats, and other connected devices—are a valuable tool for advancing reliability, resilience, and renewables and EV integration. Leading cooperatives and their member owners are already benefiting from the services that VPPs provide.

This 2-hour workshop, hosted by Virtual Power Plant Partnership (VP3), will bring together co-ops and leading VPP technology and service providers to discuss opportunities to leverage unique and unprecedented levels of federal funding to advance VPP projects and programs.

Cooperatives will leave this workshop with a better understanding of VPP benefits and project types. Co-ops who wish to apply for New ERA funding will also leave with insight, resources, and connections to fast-track development of time-sensitive letters of intent (due August 31).

We invite co-op leadership, staff, and board members to attend the two-part, free virtual workshop:

Part 1: What are VPPs and why are they helpful to co-ops?

Part 2: Leveraging New ERA and federal funding for VPPs

This event will take place via Zoom. An email confirmation will be sent containing the Zoom link to join.
