Strengthening Gender Integration for Fast and Effective Climate Action

Wednesday, September 21 | 1:00 p.m. ET

Research shows women and girls are hit the hardest by climate change impacts, which compounds existing inequalities—particularly in Small Island Developing States (SIDS) susceptible to hurricanes and other natural disasters. Despite this reality, women still don't have access to equal opportunities in leadership roles in the energy sector, holding only 32% of renewable jobs, according to IRENA. However, women have been driving change in their communities. Gender inclusion is critical for advancing the energy transition at the scale and speed needed to meet 2030 climate goals.

RMI recently acquired the WIRE (Women in Renewable Energy) network from the Clinton Climate Initiative. This professional development group seeks to empower and connect women actively making a difference to ensure equal representation and considerations in policies, workforce training, and project development.

Join RMI's Energy Transition Academy for a webinar featuring industry leaders and advocates for gender integration to discuss ongoing efforts to integrate gender into climate action strategies, highlighting case studies and best practices.

This event will take place via Zoom. An email confirmation will be sent containing the Zoom link to join.
