RMI

Applications close JULY 15 MIDNIGHT MT. Invitations will be sent in mid- to late-August.

ABOUT THE FELLOWSHIP

Three-Month Online Engagement Program: Beginning in September 2022, fellows will participate in biweekly online learning events, networking, and leadership opportunities covering topics such as project development and management, de-risking and procurement, and regional topics like battery storage in the Caribbean and DER fundamentals and finance in Nigeria. Subject matter experts will facilitate these Engagement sessions and address broad-based needs within each topic.

Fellows Summit and Site Visits: Following the Online Engagement Program, fellows will convene in person to visit solar microgrids or other utility-enabled distributed energy sites and participate in applied learning sessions with experts in the field over three days. Through these visits, fellows will discover the best practices and lessons learned from a completed regional project that applies to their work.

DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION

We believe that at the heart of the energy transition is the often-overlooked component of leadership, skills, and capacity. But a top-down, technical capacity development approach will not be enough to meet our commitments. Instead, what is needed is a just energy transition that will require us to reimagine energy leadership toward developing capacity for a human-centric energy transition. To achieve this, the Fellowship encourages diverse perspectives and experiences. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are core to achieving RMI’s mission of transforming energy use. For more information about RMI’s approach to equity in our mission, see our equity principles

LOGISTICS

The Engagement Program will span three months, from September to December, 2022. The Engagement is an online learning, connecting, and practicing experience with approximately 30 hours of time commitment. In January 2023, fellows can focus on their assignments and prepare for the in-person events. During the Fellows Summit and Site Visits in February 2023, fellows will visit regional distributed energy sites and participate in applied learning sessions during a three-day in-person gathering

The application consists of three sections – contact information, basic information, and needs and preference. Applicants need to fill out all sections of the application to be considered.
